U.S. stock futures are lower. Stocks are moving lower in the pre-market, while bonds are receiving a boost as market participants respond to inflation data and earnings reports. According to the April Producer Price Index (PPI), producer prices have increased by 2.3% compared to the previous year, which falls slightly short of the anticipated 2.4% rise. Additionally, jobless claims have risen to 264,000, surpassing the estimated 245,000 and the previous week's figure of 242,000 initial claims. Asian stocks concluded the session with losses, while European stocks are trading mixed. Crude oil prices are facing renewed downward pressure, while gold and the value of the dollar are both moving to the upside.
