U.S. stock futures are higher. Stock futures are higher, continuing last week’s rally that saw the S&P 500 mark its third straight week of gains, bouncing back from April’s losses. Treasury yields are ticking lower, sticking with last week’s trend of mild action in the bond market. This week, earnings will take a back seat to the economic calendar, which will see the release of April PPI and CPI data on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, respectively. Also in the mix are retail sales data on Wednesday morning, earnings from a few large retailers, and Fed speak throughout the week. Earnings season continues to come to a close; 92% of S&P 500 companies have reported earnings, and 78% of those companies have beaten EPS expectations. In international markets, European equities are trading mostly lower, and Asian equities started the week with mixed results. Gold prices are shifting lower, and Crude oil is on the rise. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index is weakening relative to overnight levels.
